Product Description:
Each Torrey Pines Scientific hot plate is made with a cast aluminim chassis that is painted with chemically resistant epoxy paint. The chassis is designed to keep spills out of the case. Heating and stirring controls are solid state and are mounted well forward of the heater surface to prevent accidnetal burns. Additionally, the solid ceramic heater plate is framed in cast aluminum and is designed to keep heat from the edge of the heater plate.
The stirrers feature solid state controls capable of stirring aqueous solutions from 100 to 1500 rpm. The controls have an OFF position fully counter-clockwise, and are continuous over 270 degrees of rotation from minimum to maximum speed when turned on. The magnets are circular discs with twenty pounds pull strength and are capable of stirring 5-800ml beakers of aqueous solution on the 5-position units and 9-500ml beakers of aqueous solution on the 9-position units.
The heater control has OFF, and HIGH positions for quick setting, and a smooth infinite control of about 270 degrees between LO and HIGH settings. The control will regulate a set point to ± 2.5° C.
Control knobs are specially selected to provide easy use and positive, tactile feel. All units are fused, and have a 6-foot long detachable AC line cord with a male plug that matches the local standard. The warranty is 12 months.
